Iowa MMJ stands firmly on the belief that migration is a fundamental human right and that everyone deserves to live in safety and with dignity. We recognize that access to immigration legal services is essential and urgently needed for individuals and families across Iowa. That’s why Iowa MMJ is committed to providing high-quality, accessible immigration legal services throughout the state, empowering communities and supporting those in need.

We regularly represent clients in a variety of immigration cases, including:

  • Family-Based Immigration: including petitions, adjustment of status, and consular processing

  • Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)

  • Green Card Applications (refugee adjustments, U-Visa adjustments, I-90’s, etc.)

  • Special Immigrant Visas for Afghans

  • Asylum

  • Temporary Protected Status (TPS)

  • Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) Benefits

  • U-Visas for victims of certain crimes

  • Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS), including cases for unaccompanied minors

  • Naturalization and Citizenship

  • A Limited Amount of Removal Defense Work

Please note that we do not currently handle the following types of cases:

  • Employment-based immigration

  • Federal court representation

  • Criminal defense, family law defense, or any other legal services outside of immigration law

How to Request an Appointment

After we receive your pre-screen form, an Iowa MMJ staff member will contact you within 90 days to let you know if we are able to provide legal assistance and the process for getting an appointment. If we are not able to provide legal assistance, we will provide you with an explanation.
